Antique c1890s Brunswick Balke Collender 9′ Union League pool table with accessories. All parts except legs stamped with “1048” serial number (slates are stenciled). Includes original balls (1 and 3 ball missing but has cue), slightly used high quality set of pool balls for play, antique ball holder, antique stick holder, hand chalk holder, stringer for straight pool, many more minor accessories. According to BBC’s website the table was manufactured between 1890s-1910. Table has been in the family since it was given to my great great uncle in the 1930s after a pool hall his landlord owned in Winchester, VA closed. It saw a lot of use in my great great uncle’s then my father’s basements until 2008, when we had it COMPLETELY restored and installed on my second floor (no more shooting around the hot water heater). Most of the fasteners, washers, and gaskets are original – including the leather gaskets used behind the rail bolt washers. Three piece slates are original. All wood is original. Installed new Simonis felt and rail cushions after restoration. Pockets are not original but I still have the original pocket castings (original leather rotted out). Currently the table is disassembled and in temperature controlled storage. I had to perform latest disassembly and transport to storage myself which resulted in minor dings on the edges while removing the slates. These areas are hidden by the rails when assembled. One of the slates is marked with BBC’s Baltimore (at the time) address. Have many more pictures showing different stages of disassembly as well as fully assembled that I can provide.
