The Westminster is a recent production and modification of the celebrated Pfister style which is thoroughly well known through being represented in a majority of the largest and finest billiard rooms of the United States. Inasmuch as many judges of pronounced ability favor designs in furniture which are absolutely devoid of carved ornamentations or moldings we have adopted this feature in the Westminster, which depends entirely on the highly polished plain surfaces, gracefully sweeping lines and striking originality which puts it in a class by itself, as one of the most artistic billiard tables ever produced. Available also in a combination style. Manufactured under various patents granted from 1900 to 1916. Wood and finish: Furnished in handsomely figured quarter-sawed oak or Mahogany, rubbed and polished, inlaid with holly with black border and pearl. After being given the ordinary cabinet finish it is hand rubbed to a dull polish. This can be more easily kept clean than any other furniture finish. Construction: The heavy O. Framework of the body is built up in what is technically known as compound construction–that is, various kinds of woods tongued and grooved together and double cross veneered on the outside and inside, the outer veneer being handsomely figured. The legs are built up in the same way. Double cross stretchers 1 3/4″ thick x 9″ wide, countersunk into reinforcing blocks, 16 1/2″ x 47″ doubled veneered, and held in place by heavy iron frame bolt, making a rigid bridge construction. Long stretchers 1 3/4″ thick and 5 1/2″. Head blocks and sides bolted into legs, two bolts at each point, tongued and grooved compound construction, reinforced by heavy corner blocks and secured to leg cap in frame body with iron bolts, reinforced with hardwood dowels. The wood construction all of first quality, cabinet made and put together in a most thorough manner. All joints made close and secure and all mitres absolutely accurate. Glued up joints are tongued and grooved, strongly doweled and glued firmly together. All corners and edges made perfectly smooth and true. Cushion Rails: 1 3/4″ thick x 3 3/8″ with facing complete 2 1/4″ x 4 1/8″. Compound construction built up of various kinds of hard woods of different grains. Plain solid corner blocks covering joint bolt heads. Cap rails 7/8″ x 3 7/8″ on upper surface and covered with Rosewood 1 4/ thick. Inlaid cushion bolts covered by what is known as blind cushion rails, built up of 5-ply thicknesses placed in an alternate run of grain, with fancy figured veneer on the exterior. Also inlaid name plate. Eight rail bolts one each side and 4 on each end of 4 1/2 x 9′ table and 10 rail bolts on each side and 5 on each end of x 10′ table. Slate Bed: Best quality Vermont slate , 3 pieces to the set. The joints are made with brass dowels and sockets with no screw holes in playing surface. Thickness of slate either 1″ or 1 1/2″, as may be specified with wood reinforcing frame 1 thick. Hardwood trim at pocket opening. 1 1/8″ on 1″ slate; 3/4″ on 1 1/2″ slate. Cushions: The cushions furnished with this table, unless otherwise specified, are our celebrated Match Game perfect angle Monarch. These are made in our own rubber plant at Muskegon, Michigan from a secret formula which is used exclusively by us. Our guarantee as to their accuracy of angle, speed and durability is evidenced by the name plate countersunk in the top of the cushion rail. Pockets: The pocket irons are the No. 6 style which are countersunk in the ends of the cushion rails by means of a brass socket. Cover leathers reinforced at point of contact giving extra durability. Brunswick Balke Collender Arcade Pool Table. From our research we believe it to be a 1907 or 1908. Old Mission Style “B”. Outside Dimensions are 8′ 7″ x 4′ 8″. 3 Piece 1 1/2 Slate top, SOLID Wood Frame! A little restoration and you will have a VERY NICE Table! This is a strictly conventional old style Mission in billiard table construction. It is modeled on the severely plain lines which characterizes the Mission style of ornamentation and gives it the appearance of solidity and substantial construction which are essential to a perfect billiard table. The table is built of oak and finishes in dark Flemish, or as some term it, weathered or Antwerp oak. It can be made to order in chestnut, elm, cypress with weathered, fumed or any special finish desired. The outfit or playing equipment is strictly first class in every particular. The slate bed is best quality Vermont one inch thick, the sections being joined with brass dowels and sockets. No screw holes on the playing surface. Can be furnished with slate 1 1/2 in thickness where desired, at a small advance in cost. The cushions are the celebrated quick acting Monarch, guaranteed the most perfect angle cushion in the world. Used by all professional players in America and Europe. The cushion rails are of extra heavy construction and firmly bolted to the slate bed. In all of our high grade tables, what is termed a “blind cushion rail” is made use of, that is the bolts holding the cushion rails to the slate bed are concealed by woodwork. This eliminates the cheap appearing ornamental bolt caps and gives greater weight to the cushion rail, which means better results from the cushions. The cushion rail tops are veneered with rosewood, which does not change color, cannot be easily disfigured with lighted cigars and does not have the objectionable features of a varnish finish. Antique Brunswick Balke Collender 9′ Union League Pool Table and Accessories

Antique c1890s Brunswick Balke Collender 9′ Union League pool table with accessories. All parts except legs stamped with “1048” serial number (slates are stenciled). Includes original balls (1 and 3 ball missing but has cue), slightly used high quality set of pool balls for play, antique ball holder, antique stick holder, hand chalk holder, stringer for straight pool, many more minor accessories. According to BBC’s website the table was manufactured between 1890s-1910. Table has been in the family since it was given to my great great uncle in the 1930s after a pool hall his landlord owned in Winchester, VA closed. It saw a lot of use in my great great uncle’s then my father’s basements until 2008, when we had it COMPLETELY restored and installed on my second floor (no more shooting around the hot water heater). Most of the fasteners, washers, and gaskets are original – including the leather gaskets used behind the rail bolt washers. Three piece slates are original. All wood is original. Installed new Simonis felt and rail cushions after restoration. Pockets are not original but I still have the original pocket castings (original leather rotted out). Currently the table is disassembled and in temperature controlled storage. I had to perform latest disassembly and transport to storage myself which resulted in minor dings on the edges while removing the slates. These areas are hidden by the rails when assembled. One of the slates is marked with BBC’s Baltimore (at the time) address. Have many more pictures showing different stages of disassembly as well as fully assembled that I can provide. Brunswick Balke Collender Conqueror Antique Billiard and Pool Table

Brunswick Balke Collender Conqueror antique pool table, fully restored. This is a nine foot pro (100″ x 50″ playing surface), convertible table, with three piece one inch slate. Patented 8/7/1928, production ending in 1931. Being a depression era table with a short production run, these tables are hard to come by. They are also one of the most sought after tables from the arts and crafts period. Complete convertible tables are more scarce yet. Convertible tables allow you to switch the rail tops between pocket and billiard. Complete with both sets of rails, along with the original rail storage box. Table parts have all matching numbers, original hardware, except for a few replaced screws. As some people prefer to make their own choices regarding cloth, pockets and cushions. The irons on a convertible table are not the standard #6. They will need to be sent in to be recovered. Hood leather is an excellent option. I do not know how long that owner had the table, or if they were the original owners. The overwhelming majority of tables found today, spent most of their life in a pool hall. Finding their way into homes as they closed down. Often seeing a lot of abuse from the patrons. I have no way of knowing where this table spent its first 20 years, but evidence suggests it has always been a private table. Note in the last photo, look at the underside of the rail liner. There are very few tack or staple holes. This table has not seen many cloth changes. But most important was condition. This table was in exceptional (pre-restoration) condition. Other options may be available. If you can get it for less, then it is less. You can source this on your own or I can assist you. I welcome any requests to inspect this table in person.
